Doris and Don were great friends. The Obit was perfectly written...Doris was of generous spirit. She will be missed!

I was fortunate to work with Doris at the Department of Public Aid back in the 80's. She was one of my favorite people to work with. She was sweet, kind and very thoughtful. I still have 3 bird statues she purchased at the Illinois State Museum gift shop that she gave me as a token of her appreciation for helping her at work. My job introduced me to a lot of people and Doris was one at the top of my list that I will forever cherish our friendship. RIP dear Doris.

While technically a cousin, Doris and Don were more like Aunt and Uncle to us. We have fond memories of Don's wild story telling during 4th of July fish fries at our home and a few shopping excursions at the Wardrobe with Doris. Always generous, Doris enlightened every event with her grace and charm. And I would always laugh and tell her I was envious of any woman who maintained an unbroken record for "perfect hair days." She was one-of-a-kind -- she brightened this community for many years -- and, she will be missed by those who knew her.
