I met Bill several years ago while fishing on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Bill and a mutual friend ( George ) were walking along the shore. I had just landed a fish called a whiting. Bill looked over at me and said ; boy, that sure looks like fun ! I looked up at him and is fun ; Go get your fishing tackle and a chair and I will show you how to fish for them. Well Bill and George wondered on down the beach and I thought...he (Bill ) wouldn't come back, he's just one of those old snow birds. I continued to improve my catch when I looked up and to my surprise.. guess who I saw walking across the sand.... Why it was my pal old Bill Mobley, with his fishing pole, tackle and a chair. Well, he sat down and I got him set up to fish. As fate would have it...his first cast was perfect and as he turned around to sit down a whiting hit his line and the battle was on. Bill landed a whiting about 2 pounds. Buddy, old Bill looked like a 10 year old... jumping up down just as excited as one could be. From that day on ..Bill and I became as close as brothers. Every November I looked sooooo forward for Bill and his beautiful wife Miriam to visit Gulf Shores. The loss of Bill has left a hole in my heart. I will always cherish the times Bill and I had together. May he rest in peace. Mariam... Ange and I love you.
