Condolences for Buda C. Shofner

My family moved across the street from the Shofners when I was about 8-years-old, and stayed there until I was 18, so the Shofners are involved in almost every memory from that time that I have, but a few definitely stand out: -The sourdough bunny breads every Easter, complete with raisin eyes and pink marshmallow noses. -Gigantic tomatoes and zucchinis from the garden that were always shared with all the neighbors. -Leaving bouquets of spring flowers on the doorstep on May Day ... and ringing the doorbell and running away before they saw me! -Buda and Sherwood gave me a key to their back gate so I could have a shortcut when walking home from school, though I now suspect it was an excuse so we could have time to talk, since one or the other (or both) happened to be outside when I'd be coming through. -Having a "grandma" across the street since mine lived in Florida. My thoughts are with the family, and Buda was much loved and will be missed.

Great-Aunt Buda was such a great lady that she will be dearly missed! This world is definitely a better place for her being here. I hope you find comfort and peace in the coming weeks. Stephanie
