William L. Angeli
William L. Angeli, 86, of Springfield, died at 4:01 pm, Thursday, March 21, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born September 8, 1926 in Iron Mountain, MI to Reniero and Pauline Pisch Angeli. He married Tina Fioriti June 16, 1951 and she preceded him in death November 25, 1987. Also preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Anthony Wisnieski on October 6, 2007 and three brothers.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Angeli-DePriest of Springfield; two grandchildren, Robert V. (Tracy) and Sean D. (Wendy Kapp) DePriest; three great grandchildren, Atheena, Christian and Alivia; one sister, Anna Monge of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Louis (Barb) Angeli and Anthony (Jane) Angeli, both of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Angeli lived in Springfield since 1947. He worked at Allis Chalmers for 10 years and was owner of the Brooklyn Tavern for 33 years. He was an Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Angeli was a member of the Eagles #437 and AARP. He loved sports, hunting and spending time with his family.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Monday, March 25, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5 pm.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church with Reverend Zachary Edgar officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association.
