SPRINGFIELD – William Dugger, 78, of Springfield died on June 24, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born April 17, 1932, in Rochester Township, Illinois, the son of Irven and Hazel Wilbur Dugger. He married Janet Wheelhouse on August 25, 1972.
William is survived by his wife; 1 daughter, Billie Kay Dugger of Springfield; 2 sons, Henry (Sherri) Dugger of Divernon and William Dugger Jr. of Chatham; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters, Marge Baugh of Springfield and Mary Lou Graham of Virden; 2 brothers, Ray (Joanne) Dugger and Darrell Dugger, both of Springfield; niece, Marge Crenshaw; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Jean Ann Watson; and 1 brother, Paul Dugger.
William was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Laborers Local 477 and retired from there. He had 5 dogs that were like kids to him and he loved tattoos.
A memorial gathering will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. Vaughn Beeman officiating.
