Wanda M. Denosky, 93, of Springfield, IL, died at 9:45 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born June 7, 1920 in West Virginia to Michael and Martha Josterff Ambrose. She married Michael M. Denosky in 1938 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1990. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Judith Driver; two sisters, Gladys Murphy and Leona “MoMo” Ambrose and two brothers, Steven and Leo Ambrose.

Survivors include four daughters, Sandra Denosky of Rochester, Pamela Fletcher of Springfield, Linda Chase of Jacksonville and June (Robert) Pellman of Springfield; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She worked at Springfield Credit Bureau and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Wanda was a member of P.O.L.K. of A., enjoyed playing BUNCO, attended Lincoln Land Community College and received her associates in Horticulture and loved gardening. She belonged to the Lithuanian-American Club of Central Illinois. She also loved cooking ethnic food and teaching her grandkids everything she knew.

Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
