Eric, I am so sorry to hear about your father. When I heard about his passing I had so many good thoughts about your him while working and socializing with him. I always respected your dad for all the help and guidance he gave me while on the job. He was all about the fire dept. and he was good at what he did. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these tough times.

My thoughts and condolences go out to the Helms family. Eric as you already know I had the very pleasure of driving your father around the City of Springfield and more than once he would look over and not say a word, I would just remind him to “hang on Chief “were going to a fire. We took routes that would make the nice lady in today’s GPS pull her hair out, But most of all I learned and grew under your Dads guidance, he gave me confidence. When your Dad was in Command of the outside we as Firefighters had no fear on the inside, because we all knew he had our back.

I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the Helms family. May those precious memories of your dear loved one Matthew be foremost in your hearts and minds along with this wonderful promise that Jesus made at John 5:28,29. Again, my sincere condolences.

My Dear Eric, You are in my thoughts and prayers. You had a very special Dad. I think you know that he was like my brother and that he will be greatly missed. Always remember he is now in Heaven with his favorite barber, “Uncle Merk”. Love you always, Aunt Barb

To the Helms Family. Our sincere condolences with the loss of a very honorable and special man. We were very fortunate to have had him be a part of our lives. The “Cubbies” now have a SPECIAL ANGEL in heaven to help them win the WORLD SERIES!
