Virginia P. DiGiovanna

Virginia P. DiGiovanna, 89, of Springfield died at 12:45 am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Regency Nursing Care Residence. She was born on February 9, 1925 in Decatur to George and Kittie Curry McCauley. She married Dominic DiGiovanna on January 24, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2005.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Garland D. DiGiovanna and a brother Wendell McCauley.

Virginia was a member of Historic Grace Lutheran Church. She lived in Springfield since 1985 and previously lived in Dawson. She worked at Dawson Elevator Company as an Assistant Manager.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Elaine) DiGiovanna; a granddaughter Erica (Binh) Trinh and a great granddaughter, Sarah Trinh, all of Springfield; a sister, Eleanor (Don) Tarvin of Decatur and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 11:00 am – 12 pm Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 12:00 noon Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Christell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Historic Grace Lutheran Church.
