Virginia F. Glaven

Virginia F. Glaven, 90, of Sherman died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born January 11, 1923 in Galesburg to William and Clara Smith Fuller and they precede her in death. She married John Glaven, Jr. on May 18, 1946, and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1999.
Virginia was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a graduate of Lanphier High School. She loved God, was a devoted Catholic and faithfully attended mass at St. Joseph Church and was a member of the St. Joseph Guild. She retired after 24 years of service for the Credit Bureau of Springfield. She was a fun-loving person with a wonderful sense of humor who enjoyed spending time in her flower garden. She will be dearly missed by family and friends and the Villa West in Sherman.
Surviving are several cousins: Joseph Beneky, Jack Smith, Jimmy Del Smith, Matt Brown, Linda Allen and Niece, Ellen Brown and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Joseph Church.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Joseph Church with Reverend Steven Janoski officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
