Victoria M. Rath
SPRINGFIELD – Victoria Mary Rath, 88, of Springfield died at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Springfield, the daughter of Alfredo and Mary Prinzavallie Marinelli. She married Robert W. Rath; he preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Grace Clotfelter (companion, Robert E. Charles) and Roberta (husband, Robert) Shippen, all of Springfield; two sons, William (wife, Marlene) Rath of Springfield and Joseph (wife, Sherry) Rath of Chatham; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lapicola of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a niece, Mary Jo Reuter of Nevada; a nephew, John (wife, Shirley) Lapicola of Texas; and several cousins.
She lived most of her life in Springfield and she worked as a homemaker. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, at St. Joseph Church. A funeral mass will follow visitation at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Charles Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
