Tracey Karl Sidles, 54, of Sherman, died at his home on Sunday, July 6, 2014. He was born November 8, 1959 in Springfield, IL to Henry J. and Shirley (Peters) Sidles, Jr.

Tracey was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and shooting with family and friends. He was a longtime member of the NRA and Pheasants Forever.

Tracey retired from the Illinois State Senate after thirty years of service, and was the longest standing Sergeant At Arms/Asst. Sergeant in the state of Illinois.

He is survived by two sons, Cameron James Sidles (mother Angie Sidles) of Springfield and Philip (wife Lindsey) Sidles of Mechanicsburg (mother Julie Etherton-Sidles); one grandchild, Peyton; a sister and a brother, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4-7 pm, Friday, July 11, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church/school.
