Timothy W. “Brownie” Brown
RIVERTON – Timothy W. “Brownie” Brown, 45, of Riverton, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born October 4, 1961 in Springfield, IL, the son of Paul Samuel and Bernadine LaVerne Wanless Brown. His father, in 1981, and one nephew, Joey Smith, in 1974, preceded him in death.
Mr. worked for Metal Decor, Springfield Park District, and MII in Lincoln. He served on the Village of Riverton Zoning Board from 2000-2003. He was Past President and a member of the Sparrows Club. Tim loved the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and U of I Fighting Illini. He enjoyed riding his bike, gardening, camping, canoeing, and white water rafting. He was a past member of the Printer’s Union.
Survivors: mother, Bernadine Brown of Springfield; two sisters, Ruth (husband, Joe) Smith of Springfield and Debbie (husband, Kenny) Adams of rural Illiopolis; three brothers, Steve (wife, Bobbie) Brown of rural Athens, Andy (wife, Mindy) Brown of Spaulding, and Matt (wife, Lorie) Brown of Springfield; several aunts and uncles; three nieces, Jen Smith, Megan Adams, and Sarah Adams; four nephews, Jerry Adams, Tony Smith, Mike Brown, and Josh Adams; four stepnieces, Malinda Gray and Kayla, Sarah, and Michelle Green; and several cousins.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2007. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2007, Clint Cook officiating. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery. The family requests guests wear blue jeans and casual attire for the visitation and funeral service. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
