Thomas V. Nichols
Thomas V. Nichols, 85, of Springfield, IL died at Engelwood Hospital in Florida Friday, March 3, 2023. He iwas born June 28, 1937 in Springfield, the son of Thomas Henry and Mable (Waters) Nichols. He married Kay Bartlett on November 15, 1958.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; two daughters, Donna (Willie) Spencer of Springfield and Dana Garish of Eldorado Hills, CA; three grandchildren, Jessica and Lucas Spencer and Lauren Garish; one great granddaughter, Kamryn Spencer; one brother, Larry (Marjorie) Nichols of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was a United States Air Force veteran. He was in the floor covering business and retired from the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture.
He enjoyed going to NASCAR races and wintering in Florida. He was a member of VFW Post #10302.
Memorial Gathering: 11 am – 12:30 pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Service: 12:30 pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Inurnment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to Real Life Church or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

I saw Tom's obituary in the newspaper, but it was after the service. I have very fond memories of times that we spent with you and Tom from years ago. I'm thinking of you, Kay, and wish you well.
