Thomas Kavanagh

SPRINGFIELD- Thomas E. Kavanagh, 70, of Springfield died at 9:35 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on December 28, 1941 in Chicago Illinois to Joseph and Josephine McKenna Kavanagh. He married Christel Frenzel on December 18, 1967 and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Tom (Cindy) Kavanagh and Daniel (Michell) Kavanagh both of Chatham, Mary Katherine “Katie” Kavanagh (fiancé James Marshall) of Springfield, seven grandchildren, Lyndsay, Ryan, Lauren, Sara, and Brandon Kavanagh, Caden Vandevelde and Ethan Marshall, one sister Sheila McLaughlin of Minnesota and one niece Shawn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Kavanagh was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He was a United States Army Veteran and a past member of American Legion Post #32. He was involved in local politics and loved to read. He worked at CWLP for many years.
Private services will be held.
