Thomas G. “Tommy” Callahan, 64, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born August 27, 1955, in St. Louis, MO.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Elvis and Marie Tucker; one aunt, Becky Ray; and dear friend, Moe Kaiser.

Survivors include two daughters, Laura Callahan of Pekin and Kaylie Callahan of Springfield; one son, Gary Callahan; five grandchildren, Shy, Nicolia, Jerimiah, Melody, and Rosemarie; two sisters, Regina (Mark) Alex of Riverton and Recenia Tucker of Colorado.

Tommy was a resident of Springfield for most of his life and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.  He was a self-employed mechanic. Tommy was a member of Saddle Tramps Motorcycle Club and was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Celebration of Life: Family Hosted, Celebration of Life on Friday, August 7, 2020 at The Cottage Inn, 927 N MacArthur Blvd, Springfield, IL beginning at 5:00 pm.

Graveside Service: 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Tommy’s Family’s Giving Compassion Fund
