Theodore C. Russell
Theodore “Ted” C. Russell, 60, of Springfield died at 3:09 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born December 15, 1952 in Springfield, the son of Brooks and June Fortman Russell. He married Cindy Mende Allen on June 8, 2010 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters Magen Farmer of Springfield, MO and Deanna “DD” Russell of Springfield, IL; one son Ian “Rusty” Russell of Springfield; two grandchildren Jordan and James; mother June Russell of Springfield; two sisters Dee Easley of Springfield and Penny (Larry) Cannon of Buffalo; four brothers Richard (Wava) Russell of Venice, FL, Duane (Julia) Russell of Nebraska City, NB, David (Erlene “EJ”) Russell of LeRoy, IL and Ed (Rose) Russell of Springfield as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Brooks.
Ted’s passion was playing guitar. He played with Spacer Trency, Starry Eye and Sleepwalker. He also enjoyed camping and spending time at Pine Lake and the beach at Perdido Key, FL. He retired from the IL Dept of Veteran’s Affairs as an Office Administrator on March 31, 2013. Ted served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed at Ft. Leonardwood, MO.
Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
Celebration of Life: The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Capital City Bar and Grill.

I am so sorry to hear of Teddy's passing. His music will always be alive. Ted, when you see my beloved Russ on that passing cloud give him a hug from me & now you have a bass player to join you & keep rockin'. Nanci Ridder
