Susie L. Farley-Power
Susie L. Farley-Power, 78, of Springfield died at 11:35 am, Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 15, 1936 in Springfield the daughter of Charles and Susie Pritchard Akers.
Susie was first married to James Farley, Sr. and later married Robert “Buck” Power.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Akers and James and Susie Sargent; one sister, Shirley Bernstein; four brothers, Jack, Charles, Jimmy, and George Akers.
She is survived by her daughter, Susie L. Jackson of Spaulding; two sons, James (Betsy) Farley Jr. and Robert Power Jr., both of Springfield, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Larry Bernstein of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Susie worked at Holiday Inn for several years then she worked at Black and Company and Hobbs Manufacturing. She owned and operated Jim’s Auto Salvage.
She enjoyed playing BINGO; playing SodaHead on her computer; Powder Puff racing at Shaheen’s Speedway and was a member of Racing Nostalgia.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Hyde officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
