Steven Douglas Mabe

Steven Douglas Mabe, 67, of Springfield, died at 8:45 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at his home. He was born March 17, 1949 in Springfield, to Cecil and Martha C. Petsche Mabe.

Survivors include two daughters, Kellie Marie (Jeff) Austif of Taylorville and Marilyn Mabe of Austin, TX; one son, Michael John Mabe of Sherman, TX; one sister Deborah of Joplin, MO; three brothers, Timothy Mabe of Rochester, David Mabe and Ronald Mabe both of Springfield; best friends, Russell Micheletta and Richard A. Miller; several grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Steven Mabe in 1998.

Steven worked at Fiat Allis for fifteen years and retired from Labor’s Union #477. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of DAV Hall Hagler Chapter. He also enjoyed the outdoors.

Visitation: 9:30 – 11:30 am, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend John Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
