Stanislaus Casimir "Butch" Woosley
Stanislaus Casimir “Butch” Woosley, 68, of Dawson, died at 3:45 am, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born May 2, 1947 in Springfield, to John Henry and Mary Lucy Kluzek Woosley. He married Nancy Pease on August 27, 2005 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Julia A. (Russell) Morton of Virginia, IL; one son, Jerad Woosley (Fiancé Nathania Laier) of Dawson; three grandchildren, William Morton, Elijah and Lathan; siblings, Victoria Ann (Don) Krug of Prophetstown, IL, Joseph Henry Woosley of Macomb, James Patrick (Linda) Woosley of Flower Mound, TX and Rose Mary (Tom) Slayback of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one son Stanislaus “Casey” Woosley in 1973 and two brothers, John Marshall and Thomas Anthony Woosley.
Stanley was a 1965 graduate of Griffin High School. He was a veteran in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years, serving as a mechanic, stationed in Okinawa. He worked for Local 965, Operating Engineers for forty-five years. During that time he worked for various contractors including Sangamo Construction. He finished his employment working on the pipeline, Rexline Price Gregory in 2008.
Visitation: 2-5 pm, Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 2pm Sunday. A second visitation will be held from 9 – 10 am, Monday, September 14, 2015 at Resurrection Church in Illiopolis.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Monday, September 14, 2015 at Resurrection Church in Illiopolis, with Reverend Raphael Paul DeMoreno and Reverend Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will be at 2 pm, at Calvary Cemetery in Petersburg.
Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to St. John’s Breadline or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
