Shirley M. Gillmore

Shirley M. Gillmore, 92, of Springfield, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born May 10, 1920 in Lincoln, IL the daughter of Sidney Carlis and Marguerite Lee Martin and was the step daughter of Laverne Martin and Frank Fisher. She married Frederick J. Gillmore in 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1990.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother: Carlis Martin, sister-in-law: Leta Martin and nephew: Michael Lee Martin.
Survivors include her brother: Phillip (Nancy) Martin and their children Chris (Carol) Martin, Pam Martin, Jane (Keith) DeBerry, and the surviving children of her brother Carlis L. (Leta) Martin, Bruce (partner Annette Stark) Martin, Phyllis (Bill) Bruene, Chuck (partner Jeff Engel), Carla (Lewis) Bybee and Steve Martin, niece, Sherrell Petrella and her family. She is also survived by 10 great, and 9 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was a jewelry buyer for Myers Brothers and then Bergner’s.
Visitation: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m Monday, December 10, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
