Ruth W. Goldbeck

Ruth W. Goldbeck, 101, of Springfield, passed away at Pleasant Hill Health Care at 7:20 pm on Sunday, April 29, 2018. She was born on July 5, 1916 in Woodhull, IL to Earl S. and Myrle E. (Eiker) Brown. She married Louis A. Goldbeck on August 29, 1933 and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1999.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Bernice Snapp and one brother, Clifford Brown.

She is survived by two daughters; Linda L. (Donnie) Peden of Edinburg, IL and Joyce “JJ” Hamende of Springfield, 5 grandchildren; Lori M. (Gary) Maltby of Rochester, Toni S. (Todd) Clark of Chatham, Heather L. (Laura) Whetstone of Rochester, Wendy S. (Rusty) Kendle of Bloomington, and Terri L. (Jason) Smith of Springfield, 10 great-grandchildren; one cousin, Geraldine Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a resident of Springfield since 1950 and was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Ruth retired in 1987 from Pease’s Candy Company as a retail clerk.

Visitation: 10 am – 11 am on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. James Hennig and Rev. Michael Koschmann officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church or Residential Hospice.
