Ruth W. Clark
Ruth W. Clark, 90, of Springfield, IL, died at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at her home. She was born on January 11, 1924, in New Berlin, IL to Walter and Minnie Suter Welch.
She married Howard Clark on October 11, 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jason Clark; one brother; two sisters and a son-in-law, Ralph Defrates.
She is survived her daughter, Linda Defrates of Springfield; two sons, Donald Clark of Springfield and Terry Clark of Greenville, SC; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of Springfield and worked for 32 years as an Executive Secretary with the State of Illinois Department of Transportation.
Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, PTA for kids, was very active as a room mother for kids; Cub Scout, Girl Scout and Brownie leader, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Debowey officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy upon the death of your mother. Ruth was always to friendly and pleasant whenever she was at Church. She will be solely missed by her Church family. Bill & Edna Seipel
