Ruth Lucille Maloney

Ruth Lucille Maloney 103, of Bement, Illinois formerly of Springfield died at 2:05 pm, Wednesday November 2, 2011 at Bement Healthcare Center in Bement, IL.
She was born September 26, 1908 in Talkington Township, Sangamon County, IL, the daughter of Lowell U. and Grace Enid Moomaw Campbell. Ruth married John “Jack” Patrick Maloney on January 20, 1928 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1981.
Her parents; one brother, Eldon Campbell and one sister, Virginia Zara, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are four daughters; Patricia Boarman of Pawnee, Catherine L. Glossop of Springfield, Barbara J. (Frank) Knighton of Laughlin, NV ,and Frances (Albert) Gibson of Monticello, IL; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, fifteen great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth retired after thirty-seven and a half years of service from the State of Illinois. She last worked as an accountant for IDOT.
She was a member of St. Agnes Church, former member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Ladies of the Moose, Ladies of the Elks, and Daughters of the Pocahontas. In previous years she enjoyed bowling and served as secretary for many leagues. Her hobbies included crafting, especially crocheting and she was a latch hook expert.
Visitation: 2-4 pm Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, November 7, 2011, at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Agnes Church in Springfield, IL or Bement Healthcare Center in Bement, IL
