Roy R. Schleyhan

January 13, 1936 - January 30, 2017

Roy R. Schleyhan, 81, of Springfield died at 6:32 pm, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born January 13, 1936 in Springfield to Roy T. and Eva (Roberts) Schleyhan. He married Anna C. Disco on June 15, 1963 and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2002.

Survivors include his companion, Bonnie Easton of Springfield; four children, Beth A. (Timothy) Hortberg, Kurt A. and Eric A. Schleyhan and Lisa A. Feagans, all of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Justin (Elisabeth) Kilby, Seth (Loryn) Kilby, Cadel Hortberg, Ava Lavender, Noah Schleyhan, Judah Schleyhan, Athia Schleyhan, Emily Feagans and Anna Schleyhan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his wife, parents and one sister, Audrey Noonan.

Roy was a member of St. Agnes Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapshooting, woodworking and model cars. He was a United States Air Force veteran and then transferred to the Air Force reserves. He retired from the State of Illinois and Merrell Contractors.

Visitation: 4 – 7 pm Friday, February 3, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service being held at 4 pm.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 am Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Agnes Church with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
