Rosemary DeRosa went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Rosemary was born October 23, 1935 in Cheyenne, WY on her brother Lloyd M. Kramer, Jr.’s third birthday. She was the daughter of Lloyd M. Kramer, Sr. and Gladys Kramer.
She graduated from Easton High School in 1953 and married Tony DeRosa, September 30, 1967 at the Third Presbyterian Church where she and her mother were members.
Rosemary retired from Ameritech in 1984 after twenty-nine years. She rose to the level of manager and maintained that position for over twenty years. After retiring from Ameritech she worked as a caregiver for the next twelve years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd M. Kramer, Sr. and Gladys Kramer and her brother, Lloyd Kramer, Jr. in 1986.
Rosemary is survived by many cousins and numerous wonderful friends. She was a devoted friend, always trying to help and cheer them up.
She loved to bake and was known for her sugar cookies, angel food cakes and pecan tarts. At Christmas time her friends always looked forward to her Christmas trays full of home-baked treats.
In 2003 Rosemary suffered a debilitating spinal cord injury and was told she would never walk again. Through hard work and perseverance Rosemary went from a wheelchair to walking in fourteen months, with the help of her friend, Wanda. Her motto was “I just never give up.”
Rosemary was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be missed by her many friends.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Sandi Woodard officiating. A private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
