Rosemarie Matthews, 84, of Springfield, died on December 2, 2016, at Concordia Village. She was born January 13, 1932 in Polk County, MO to William and Allean (Lunceford) Barnhouse. She married Charles Matthews on April 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2011.
Survivors include four daughters: Theresa (Thomas) Kruger of Dixon, IL, Pamela Lea (Don) Volland of Florence, KY, Candi (Charles) Campbell of Rochester, IL, and Kelly (Robert) Scott of Chatham, IL; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, three sisters: Patsy Hood, Janet Skidmore, and Linda Benner, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Doris Blankenship, and three brothers: Charles Dean Barnhouse, Bill Barnhouse, and Bob Barnhouse.
Rosemarie was a member of Springfield Southern Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation: 4–6 pm, Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield. There will be a second visitation from 10-11 am, Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at Springfield Southern Baptist Church.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at Springfield Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Keppler and Pastor Charles Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Cemetery.
