Robert Wilson Ashbaugh

Robert Wilson Ashbaugh, Age 70, of Springfield died at 6:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI to William and Alice Ashbaugh. He married Nancy Merrell and she survives.

He is also survived by one son: Kurt (Nancy) Ashbaugh of Murfreesboro, TN; three grandchildren: Connor, Lauren and Rowan; one sister: Betty (Tom) Bouchard of Henderson, NV; brother-in-law: Arnold (Marilyn) Merrell; 2 sisters-in-law: Barbara (Gordon) Kay and Jean (Art) Haak.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert attended First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Lion’s Club, Lefthanders Gun Club, the Springfield Motor Boat Club and Christian County Shrine. At the time of his retirement he was President of the Citizens Bank of Edinburg.

The family is hosting a memorial gathering at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church until time of services at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Clifford Hayes officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Tiffany Window Restoration Fund or Hospice Care of IL.
