Robert E. "Bob" Clark

SPRINGFIELD, IL- Robert E. “Bob” Clark, Sr., 85, of Springfield died at 4:55 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born on November 8, 1932 in Springfield to Patrick and Fern (Scott) Clark. He married Ada E. Clark on May 26, 1956 and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2014.

Also preceding him in death are his parents; one grandson, Michael Upperman; three sisters, Patsy Odorizzi, Joan Marie Clark, and Frankie Cunningham.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda (Patrick) O’Brien; four sons, Robert E. “Bob” Clark, Jr., Scott (Kim) Clark, Todd (Toni) Clark, and Mike Clark; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Chad) McKinney, Cristin (Mike) Goldsberry, Baleigh Clark, Nick Clark, Brandon Clark, Courtney Upperman, Nichole (Ryan) Strebing, and Chad (Sarah) Clark; six great grandchildren and two on the way; three siblings, Midge Keen, Thomas Clark, and Bette Marconi and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean and Vietnam War. He was a resident of Springfield since 1973, retiring from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service and from the United States Post office after 23 years of service.

He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with his Grandchildren.

Visitation: 5-8 PM, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with a prayer service at 5 PM.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Christ the King Church with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lincoln Land Honor Flight.
