Robert Allen Jensen

Rev. Robert Allen Jensen, 72, of Springfield, died at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born August 8, 1939 in Des Moines, IA to Einar and Florence Salo Jensen. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sarah E. Jensen of Springfield; two sons, George M. and Mark A. Jensen both of Springfield; two sisters, Charlotte Donovan of Garden Grove, CA and Karen Jensen of Federal Way, WA; one brother; Paul (Ursula) Jensen of Seattle, WA, several nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by E. June Roberts.
Rev. Jensen graduated from Concordia Seminary in 1974. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a resident of Springfield since 1984. He was a Lutheran Pastor at various churches in Sangamon County including Guest Pastor for many years at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield. He also volunteered at memorial medical center.
Visitation: 9 – 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverton.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverton with Pastor Michael Koschmann officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors.
