Rick L. Meiseman
Rick L. Meiseman, 56, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at his home at 7:56 pm, Sunday, June 22, 2014. He was born December 25, 1957 in Springfield, to Roger William and Julia Glorianne Ferguson Meiseman.
He married Sally Banta on October 17, 1976 in Springfield. They later divorced and went their separate ways.
Survivors include his daughter, Shawn (Jonathan) Langley of Springfield; son, Luke (Donna) Meiseman of Springfield; ten grandchildren, Taylor Phoenix, Lacie, Nick, Bethany Langley & Jonathan Langley, Jr., Johnny, Joey and Jace Meiseman, Bryant Ronan and Lane Jeffers; one sister Linda (Mark) Woollen of Springfield; one brother James (Sharon) Meiseman of McKinney, TX and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents and one brother Johnny Meiseman preceded him in death.
He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 14 as a child and felt it was the stepping stone that built his character as an adult. He worked for National Garages for eighteen years, starting as a parking lot attendant and moved into management as District Manager for the Northern States with his office in Pittsfield, MA. He resigned from his career in 1993 to move back to Illinois to be closer to his ailing mother. He started Classic Adventurers in January of 1998 and enjoyed his customers and traveling.
Visitation: 10am – 12 pm, Monday, June 30, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12 pm, Monday, June 30, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Willmar Cohen officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project; Special Olympics or Children’s Miracle Network.
