Richard F. Anders

Richard F. Anders, 76, of Springfield, died at 7:30 am, Friday, May 2, 2014 at home after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born March 5, 1938 in Springfield, to Russell and Mattie Lynn Anders. He married Jean Lauchner.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Stephen Michael Anders, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife Jean Anders of Springfield; two children Rick (Teri) Anders of Auburn; Cathy (Ron) Wenneborg of Chatham; eight grandchildren Veronica, Molly, Taylor, Aaron, Drew, Kylie, Katelyn and Abby; five great-grandchildren Eli, Isaac, Gabriella, Avery and Benjamin; two sisters Joan Nichols of Spring, TX; Mattie (Ron) Luck of Springfield; one brother Russell (Delilah) Anders of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Memorial Hospice for the kind and caring service he received.

He was employed as a Mechanical Serviceman. He enjoyed fishing, was a resident of Southern View most of his life. Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Staab Funeral home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
