Raymond F. Boehler
Raymond F. Boehler, 89, of Chatham, died at 9:42 am, Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born October 25, 1924 in Zanesville, Township, Montgomery County, IL to Joseph and Rebecca Marten Boehler. He married Mary Howard and she preceded him in death in August 1976. He married Verda L. Hoehn on July 11, 1979 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Kathleen (Tom) Brown of Harvel, IL; two sons, James (Judy) Boehler of Aviston, IL and Keith Boehler of Cypress, TX; 8 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; three sisters, Sophia Boehler, Helen Krause and Margaret Stogsdill; four brothers William, Paul, Aloysius and Leo Boehler.
He was a member of the Church of the Little Flower and attended St. Joseph’s Church in Chatham. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of Springfield Audubon Society; Knights of Columbus and American Legion.
He was the owner of Sub Service Drainage and also owned a car wash and farmed.
Visitation: 9-11 am, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Raymond.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Raymond with Reverend Gerald Bunse officiating. Burial will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
