Phyllis E. Hylton
Phyllis E. Hylton, 88, of Springfield, died at 3:35 am, Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her residence. She was born June 18, 1930 in Peoria to Howard and Lucille (O’Hare) Pfoff and they preceded her in death. She married David F. Hylton in 1952 and he preceded her in death on November 6, 1992.
Survivors include three daughters: Pamela Brinkley of Auburn, Rebecca (John) Wilson of Springfield, Amy (Michael) Hayer of Springfield; five sons: Pastor Michael (Kat) Hylton of Springfield, Mark (Robyn) Hylton of Morrisonville, Matthew Hylton of Springfield, Gregory (Robin) Hylton of McLeansboro, twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hylton of Springfield, sister, Vanda Duncan of East Peoria, and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was a nurse and worked for Drs. Nachtwey and Fleischli for 30 years and retired from the State of Illinois at the age of 81. She was a member of the Church of the Little Flower and a faithful member of the Discovery Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Andrew and Stephen Hylton, two daughters-in-law, Connie and Sherrie, son-in-law, Bill Brinkley, one brother, Roger Pfoff and granddaughter, Jamie.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Father Allen Kemme officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
