Philip E. Wade
Philip E. Wade, 91, of Springfield died at 6:02 am Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Illinois Veterans’ Home in Quincy, IL. He was born June 9, 1924 in Meredosia, IL to George R. and Bessie (Bollyard) Wade. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are his sister, Kathleen Wade of Springfield; sister-in-law, Ann Wade of Cincinnati, OH; nephews, Phil (Mary Ann) Wade of Napoleon, OH and Jim Wade of Cincinnati, OH; niece, Cindy Wade of Cincinnati; great niece, Janie (Ken) Spille of Cincinnati and great nephew, Danne (Rita) Lathrom of Springfield.
Mr. Wade was a Veteran of the Marine Corps serving during World War II. He was a life member of the DAV and Member of the Order of the Purple Heart. He enjoyed his trip to Washington D.C. while attending an Honor Flight.
Philip retired after 34 years from Fiat Allis.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am Friday, June 19, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the United State Marine Corps and the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
