Peggy Lou Lawson Courtwright
Peggy Lou Lawson Courtwright, 70, of Chatham, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home. She was born on April 6, 1948 in Springfield to James and Bonnie (Richter) Lawson. She married Gary Courtwright on March 28, 1980.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; two daughters, Stacey (William) Courtwright Russell of Springfield and Jaime (Daniel) Courtwright Russell of Bloomington; step-son, Kevin (Jacqui) Courtwright of Middleton, OH; two grandchildren, Emma Lou Russell and Armand Wayne Russell; two step grandchildren, Shauni Price and Kelleah Baker; one sister, Susan (Patrick) Freeman; one brother, Richard (Betty) Lawson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded death by her parents and one brother, Phillip Lawson.
Peggy belonged to Historic Grace Lutheran Church. She was a teacher in District 186 at Springfield and Southeast High Schools for 35 years and was also an avid runner.
Memorial Gathering: 1 – 3 pm, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Historic Grace Lutheran Church.
Memorial Service: 3:30 pm, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Historic Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Thomas Christell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Food Pantry or APL in Springfield.
