Peggy Greco Ippolito
Peggy Greco Ippolito, 62, of Springfield, died at 9:41 am, Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born June 10, 1952 in Decatur, to Roger and Jeanette (Pritts) Schwartz. She married Alfonso “Sonny” Greco on July 21, 1972 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1993. She married William G. Ippolito on April 13, 2002 and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael Dominic (Diana) Greco of St. Charles, IL and Andrew John Greco of Naperville; three grandchildren, Nick, Sammy and Michael; mother, Jeanette Schwartz of Bethany; five sisters, Janet (Alex) Shealy, Kay (Ted) Atkinson, Lou Anne Banks and Shirley (Lowell) Ford all of Bethany and Zona (Jerry) Speasl of Pleasanton, CA; one brother, John (Marsha) Schwartz of League City, TX; one sister-in-law Rose (Al) Tribuzzi of Springfield and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and first husband.
Peggy was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She retired as an administrator for the Illinois Medicaid Program in the office of the Inspector General.
Visitation: 11 am – 1pm, Monday, September 29, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1 pm, Monday, September 29, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating, burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Clinic Oncology Department; Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University in St. Louis, MO or to the Memorial Medical Center Oncology Department.

So sorry to hear about Peggy. She was a student at Bethany High School and an active part of the school. I remember her as a cheerleader with lots of energy. I also remember how kind she was to me. All of the Schwartz girls were kind and considerate. Peggy will be missed by her family and friends, and always thought of with respect and love. God bless her family.
