Paul Theodore Erley, 88, of Girard, IL, died at 7:50 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard. He was born on June 29, 1927 in Springfield to Joseph J. and Clara Reichart Erley. He married Shirley Rae Rodems on May 14, 1949 and she survives.

Also surviving are his three children, David Erley of Springfield, Paulie Erley Ray of Girard and Kathy Erley of Springfield; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

His parents preceded him in death.

Paul was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Girard; Knights of Columbus Council #364 and was a former member of the Lions Club in Girard. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He worked as a tool and die maker at Sangamo Electric and Dickey-John.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.

Graveside Service: 11 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2015 at Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Denny Baker officiating.
