Oliver T. “Bud” Hulbert, 85, of Springfield died at 4:14 am Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1929 in Bissell, IL to Oliver Perry and Blanche Thompson Hulbert. He married Velma I. Pyles, on September 16, 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents and six sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Velma; two daughters, Karen (Steve) Busch of Fair Grove, MO and Sandra Hulbert of Rochester; two sons, Keith Hulbert and Scott Hulbert, both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Matthew Busch of San Diego, CA and Alivia Doyle of Tacoma, WA and one sister, Darlene (George) Thomas of Sherman.

Bud was a member of West Side Christian Church. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He loved being outdoors working in his yard and garden, growing tomatoes. He was an avid fisherman. He worked for Eisner/Jewel in the produce department for many years.

Visitation: 5 – 7 pm Monday, August 10, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
