Norman F. Weiskopf
Norman F. Weiskopf, Sr. of Naples, FL, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed on to be with the Lord and his wife, Louise, on July 28, 2015.
He was born February 14, 1937, in Springfield, the son of Arthur F. Weiskopf and Virginia M. Weiskopf (Etherton). He was married to Louise Britton Weiskopf, who preceded him in death in 1996. He was also preceded in death by both parents, his granddaughter, Kelsey L. Stumpf, his daughter-in-law, Mona Stumpf, his sister, Janet R. Flexsenhar and his nephew, Scott D. Weiskopf.
Mr. Weiskopf was a 1955 graduate of Springfield High School and attended Carthage College. He was formerly the owner and operator of J.F. Weiskopf and Son Plumbing and Heating in Springfield. He later worked for the State of Illinois, Central Management Services, retiring in 1998. He then moved to Naples, FL.
Mr. Weiskopf was a past member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 137. He was President of the Illinois State Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors Association from 1971-1973. He was a past member of the Jacksonville Country Club; Tyrian Lodge 333; Springfield Consistory; ANSAR Shrine and the Elks Club 158. He was also a member of the Imperial Golf Club in Naples, FL.
He is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield and an affiliate member of First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, FL.
Mr. Weiskopf is survived by three daughters, Kimberly (Frank) Lesko and Tammy (Jim) Greene both of Springfield and Sherri (Sam) Simpson of Lutz, FL; son, Norman Weiskopf, Jr. of Springfield; two stepsons, Greg (Denise) Stumpf of Springfield and Kurt Stumpf of Sumrall, MS; brother, David Weiskopf of Springfield; sister, Kay (William) Brittin of Pleasant Plains and brother-in-law, Michael Flexsenhar, Sr. of Bonita Springs, FL.
He has eleven grandchildren; Nicole (Logan) Grider; Marissa, Joseph, and William Lesko; Laney, Scout and Meadow Simpson; Kurt, Daniel and Andrew Stumpf, and Jordan Stumpf. He has one great granddaughter, Kelsie Stumpf; many nieces, and nephews and several cousins.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm Sunday, August 2, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. A second visitation will be held from 9-10 am Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 10 am Monday, August 3, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Greg Busboom and Reverend Ladd Sonnenberg officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society; Hospice of Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL; Shriner Children’s Hospital or St. John’s Lutheran Church of Springfield, IL.
