Norma Jean Burt

Norma Jean Burt, 86, of Springfield, died at 6:49, pm, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born March 12, 1929 in Vandalia, to James and Lucy Gelsinger Curtis. She married Robert Edward Burt on March 17, 1945 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Waldrop of Sherman and Linda Burt of Springfield; two sons, Larry (Sandra) Burt of Rochester and Robert C. (Terry Stutler) Burt of Springfield; three grandchildren, Terri (Bob) Haerr, John Foreman and Brian Burt; two great grandchildren, Oliva and Tyler Haerr; three sisters, Nadine Hashman of Springfield, Marcella McCloud of Pekin and Betty Kendall of Thayer; one brother Loren (Judith) Curtis of Springfield and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandchildren, Sherri Foreman and Stacy Waldrop and one brother Jesse Curtis.

Norma was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated Burt’s Tavern for over twenty years.

Visitation: 4-7 pm, Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10 am, Monday, April 20, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend John E. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
