Minnie B. Britton
SPRINGFIELD – Minnie B. Britton, 85, of Springfield, formerly of Evansville, Ind., and Lincoln, died at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at her residence.
She was born June 3, 1923, in Marion, the daughter of Powell and Vinnie Brown Winstead. She married Ernest M. Britton on Aug. 29, 1942.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Don Winstead, and asister, Muriel Pinnow.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest M. Britton; a daughter, Kaye (husband, Jim) Bruner of Jacksonville; a son, Jim (wife, Carole) Britton of Springfield; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Winstead of Springfield, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a resident of Springfield since 1952. She worked at DICKEY-john Corp. and for 10 years was the co-owner of Angelo’s Italian Restaurant in Lincoln. She was a homemaker the majority of her life
She was a member of Westside Christian Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a compassionate friend.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with
Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be at Old Salem Cemetery.
