SPRINGFIELD – Milo D. Morehead, 72, of Springfield, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born October 12, 1934 in Lincoln, IL, the son of Milo and Catherine King Morehead, Sr. He married Wanda N. Thomas on December 17, 1964; she preceded him in death on November 4, 1995. His father, stepfather, two brothers, and two sons, Milo Morehead, Jr. and Randy Hill, preceded him in death.
Mr. Morehead worked for the State of Illinois for 17 years as a mail processing supervisor for the Illinois Secretary of State. He also worked for three years at Springfield Power Plant and 18 years with A&P Company. He was a member of Lakeside Christian Church, Eagles Aerie #437, past member of the Elks Lodge, AARP, 38 Club, President of the Lake Shuffleboard League, Lake Council of Clubs, Bowling League, AFL-CIO, Jackson Club, Democratic Precinct Committeeman, Lake Softball League, Executive Director of Springfield Motor Vehicle Parking Commission, and a supporter of the American Cancer Association for Research.
Survivors: companion, Jeanie (Little Bit) Green; children, Debbie Mason and David (wife, Robin) Cotton of Gainesville, GA, Sandy Chastain and Rick (wife, Melissa) Hill of Springfield, and Larry (wife, Debbie) Hill of Decatur; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; mother, Catherine Milleville of Lincoln; and one brother, Bobby Milleville.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 22, 2007. Services: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 22, 2007, Pastor Jon Morrissette officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
