Michael Silvio Poggi
Michael Silvio Poggi, 60, of Springfield, died on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on April 25, 1959, in Lincoln, to Donald Poggi and Judith (Johnston) Poggi. He married Marybeth Borg-Poggi on October 4, 2014 and she survives.
Also surviving are his parents, Donald Poggi and Judith (Bud) Standerfer, both of Springfield; two daughters, April Poggi of Chatham and Daniela (Bo) Pace of Alabama; five grandchildren, Raven, Mena, Journey, Vryce, and Caelan; two sisters, Barb (Danny) Coffey of Petersburg and Molly (Orlando) Medina of Kileen, TX; three brothers, Mark Poggi, Rick Poggi and Daniel (Tracy) Poggi, all of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his step-mother, Sheryl Poggi.
Michael was an avid Junior Blues fan and was a Chicago Sports teams fan. He loved spending time with the guys at Cigars for Aficionado and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed listening to all music and watching Aquaman. Michael worked for Terminex for 20 years, retiring in 2010.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
