Michael Richard Alcorn
Michael Richard Alcorn, 42, was born July 28, 1973, in Springfield, Illinois. He left this world at 6:19 pm, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in the comfort of his home.
He is survived by his father, Richard Alcorn of Springfield; mother, Rosario Amon of Springfield; two sisters, Rose Alcorn of Cincinnati, OH and Kathleen Alcorn of Springfield (Bernie Segatto); one brother, Bill Alcorn of Springfield; several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. He had friends he loved like family and a chocolate Labrador named Churchill who will be adopted by one of his dearest friends.
Michael was a US Army veteran serving from 1991 – 1993. During his service he was deployed to Panama and served as a scout. He has been extremely fortunate to work with truly good people at the IL Dept. of Revenue.
Michael was an enormously talented musician and artist. He collected guitars, drums and other objects of interest. He was a giver, a dreamer, and true friend. He was most happy bonding with his father and brother, his oldest of friends, at the Abe Lincoln Gun Club as members.
Memorial Gathering: 9-11 am Monday, September 21, 2015 at Church of the Little Flower.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 am, Monday, September 21, 2015 at Little Flower Church with Fr. John Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
