Michael E. Macke
SPRINGFIELD – Michael Mike E. Macke, 52,
of Springfield died at 3 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice.
He was born July 27, 1956, in St. Louis, the son of Edward A. and Elizabeth C. Radin Macke. He married Ellen E. Cosner on July 3, 1995.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen E. Macke; a daughter, Samantha E. Macke; five sisters,
Georgia (Chuck) Miller of St. Louis, Barb (Bill) Lloyd of St. Louis, Marilyn (Larry) Ennis of Scottsdale, Ariz., Sandra Kunz of St. Louis, and Carolyn (Alan) Huenefeld of Montgomery City, Mo.; a brother, David (Nan) Macke of St. Louis; an aunt; five nieces; seven nephews; and a great-nephew.
Mike was a resident of Springfield since late 1970’s. He was a heavy truck mechanic at Crossroads Ford Trucks.
Mike was a past member of Lincoln Land Bass Masters. He loved fishing and being outdoors, NASCAR, drag racing, and building things with his hands. His greatest love was caring and providing for his family.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Gifford officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
