Michael Andrew Hott
Michael Andrew Hott, 50 of Macomb, died at 4:25 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in Macomb. He was born July 29, 1968 in Springfield, to Stuart L. and Eileen (David) Hott, Sr.
Survivors include two sisters, Sandra Sweeney and Kimberly Garecht, both of Springfield; three brothers, Stuart (Carole) Hott, Jr. of Shelbyville, Timothy (Gina) Hott of Woodstock, GA and Samuel (Colene) Hott of Springfield; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Sue Hott.
Michael began working at Western Illinois University in August 1995. He was responsible for such projects as the new Grote Hall construction, Memorial Hall renovations, Thompson and Tanner hall lobby renovations, various athletic facilities enhancements, such as the women’s basketball locker room, and most recently, the planning and upcoming construction of a campus columbarium. He was named Employee of the Month in May 2008. His nominator stated, “Michael approaches each project with a positive attitude and an ability to help find solutions regardless of the difficulty or intensity of the situation.” He was an avid Harley Rider and was a board member for the Macomb area United Way.
Memorial Gathering: 9:00 – 11:00 am, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Memorial Service: 11:00 am, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Macomb area United Way.
