Michael A. Gleason
Michael A. Gleason, Age 59, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born December 8, 1952 in Springfield to William M. and Harriett L. Drennan Gleason and they preceded him in death.
He married Cheryl L. Bundy on September 5, 1980 and she survives. He is also survived by one daughter: Dr. Tara E. (Christopher) Dymon of Chicago; one son: Jacob M. Gleason of St. Louis; three sisters: Carolyn (Kevin) Kikendall of Decatur, Dara (Tom) Imlay of Hillsboro, MO and Jacqueline Pitchford of Springfield; one brother: Bill (Linda) Gleason of Cantrall and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was a talented brick mason for 35 years in the Springfield and surrounding communities. He was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local 8. Mike was of the Catholic faith, and was a devoted family man whose life centered around his wife and children. He enjoyed fishing, golf, his beloved Cardinals, Packers and Fighting Illini. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Philip Garcia, Dr. Diana Williadsen and Andrew Guardia and their respective staff.
Visitation: 2-5:30 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 5:30 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Peter Harman officiating. Private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family of Michael Gleason for the purchase of a memorial park bench.
