Max E. Williams
Max E. Williams, 84, of Springfield, died at 10:04 am, Friday, January 23, 2015 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born April 26, 1930 in Salem, MO, to Walter and Martha Palmer Williams. He married Ruth L. Lewis on December 12, 1975 and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth (Robert) Walter of Moscow Mills, MO, Tammie (Rick) Bury of Foley, MO and Susie Williams (Fiancé Joe Peden) of Springfield; two sons, Ronald (Bonnie) Williams of Creve Coeur, MO and Donald (Dianna) Williams of O’Fallon, MO; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and one brother Harry (Barbara) Williams of Florissant, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Julie King and four brothers, James Frances, Roy, Rex and Kenneth Williams.
Max was a USAF veteran servicing during the Korean War. He was a member of Real Life Church. He was a member of Teamsters Union and worked for Garland Gurkey Trucking Company for thirty-seven years and worked for Initial Security as a Field Operations Officer for six years.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Staab funeral Home with additional visitation from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Friday, January 30, 2015 at Real Life Church.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm Friday, January 30, 2015 at Real Life Church with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Sangamon County Inter Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors.
