SPRINGFIELD – Master Sgt. William Dean Wilson, 70, of Springfield died at 1:27 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at St. John’s Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Marshall, the son of Russell Grant and Lodosca Edith Parasho Wilson. He married Shannon Lee Wilson in 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Barbara and Nancy Wilson; and a brother, Richard Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a resident of Springfield for more than 20 years and previously lived in Sauk Village. He retired from the military and USPFO at Camp Lincoln in Springfield.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1954 to 1963 and in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1992. He was a member of New Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his wife, Shannon Wilson of Springfield; two daughters, Trana Sivilia Wilson (companion, Kevin Kerrick) and KaVonna Allessandra Hartley, both of Springfield; a son, William G. Wilson of Springfield; four granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; a niece; and a nephew.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Staab Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held from 10 until time of services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at New Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 1108 N. Daniels Ave. in Springfield with Pastor Ron Waltrip officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors.
