Marylian M. Jackson
SPRINGFIELD – Marylian M. Jackson, 69, a resident of Springfield for the past 30 years, died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles H. and Gladys Wagnor Miller. She married Willard D. Jackson on Sept. 20, 1954.
Her parents and two sisters, Velma Lawless and Louise Hedgecock, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jackson retired from the personnel department of the Illinois Department of Central Management Services after 10 years of service.
She was a member of the Rainbow Girls. She was a member and treasurer of Lincoln JC etts (first JC etts group formed in the state of Illinois) and was active in many other Jaycee clubs. She enjoyed traveling, especially their Europe trip. She loved playing bridge. She enjoyed boating on the Illinois River, sewing and was an avid Scrabble player. She was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandkids. She was an eye and tissue donor.
Surviving are her husband, Willard; a daughter, Dawn (husband, Russell) Schwartz of Springfield; two sons, Willard Jr. (wife, Michele) and Douglas (wife, Kathy) Jackson, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Dustin, Shawn, Nicholas, Christopher and Stephanie (husband, Aric); two great-grandchildren, Allison and Ashley; two sisters, Bonnie Skaggs of Springfield and Nadine (husband, Ted) Standerfer of Petersburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Winkleman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
